Yankees - Blue Jays , September 2003
During the first week of September 2003, I took my two youngest children, Darlene and Kevin, to Toronto to see a couple of New York Yankee - Toronto Blue Jay games. Although they had been there before, this was a "going back to school" present. We flew up on 31 August and came back on 4 September.

Except for a few clouds, we had a great flight to Toronto. This is a shot just behind the port engine of the Boeing 737 over Ontario about 6 miles above the ground. It is about a 2-hour flight from Halifax to Toronto.

Roger Clemens autographed baseball
This is a baseball that was autographed for me by Roger Clemens on Labour Day, 1 September 2003 at SkyDome in Toronto. This ball is special to us because Clemens has announced he is retiring this year, and it will likely be the last time he visits Toronto as an active player. He was leaving the field after the pre-game warm up, and stopped in the corner outside a fence to sign a few things for those who noticed him. By the time I got there, I would guess there were 50 people ahead of me standing on seats and trying to get anything from caps to balls to tickets signed. I managed to work my way to the front, leaned over and handed my ball to Roger. He signed it, shook my hand and moved on to the next person.
We went to two games, one on 1 September and the other on 3 September. The Yankees lost both, 8-1 and then 4-3. Although we are Yankee fans, it really didn't matter that much as we enjoy the games. Sure, it would have been nice if they had won, but either way, baseball is great when you are there to enjoy it in person. Here are a few pictures from the games. The quality is not the best as they had to be cropped from zoomed images:

All good things come to an end, and by the evening of the 3rd, everyone, including Dad, were ready to come home. It was a good trip, and maybe we'll do it again next year.
